# The Roulette Neighbor Bets Explained

To be able to get more wins at roulette, you need to be familiarize yourself with the game rules. While the rules are pretty simple, there are also some other aspects of the game that roulette players need to learn. This includes the betting systems. Players need to know that they can make use of basic and special betting systems like the roulette neighbor bets. When you are familiar with these, you are able to get an edge over the other players and the house.

How Does This Betting System Work

Before we start discussing the roulette neighbor bets, we first need to know that there are two basic types of betting in roulette, and these are the inside and outside bets. They differ in a way that inside bets have lower chances of winning, but have a higher payout. While outside bets have a higher chance of winning, but with a lower payout. Inside bets are those bets that use the split, street, straight up, corner, six and trio betting. Example of outside bets are numbers 1 to 18 or 19 to 36, red or black, odd or even, dozen bets and column bets.

Aside from inside and outside bets, most casinos also allow special bets like the roulette neighbor. This type of bet is done by betting on a number and the two other adjacent numbers on each on each side of that number on the wheel. So if for example you want to make a bet on the number 12, you also have to include the neighboring numbers 28 and 7 on the left, and 35 and 3 on the right. This means that if you place a \$5 bet on number 12, you will also have to place an equal \$5 bets on the other four numbers, giving you a total of \$25 bet for one spin.

Other Special Types of Bets

There are still other special types of bets that players can use when playing roulette aside from the roulette neighbor. Among the popular types of special betting systems are Voison du zero and Orphans. When doing a Voison du zero bet, a player places bet on the number 0, as well as the 7 numbers to its right and 9 numbers to its left. As for the Orphans bet, it can be an Orphelin Plein or Orphelin Cheval. In Orphelin Plein, a player makes a straight up bet on numbers 1,6,9,14,17,20,31 and 34. In Orphelin Cheval, a player makes a split bet on 6 and 9, 14 and 17, 17 and 20, 31 and 34, and also includes an additional bet on 1.

As you can see, these special betting systems provide the players a chance to cover a wider area on the betting table. They can use the roulette neighbor bets by itself or with the other special betting systems mentioned here. Either way, this type of strategy will only give them better chances at winning.
